The Wrong Proportions?

Are you meeting your dog’s needs just in the wrong proportions?

You may be giving your dogs all of the right things…… just in the wrong proportions. Dogs NEED structure/rules/guidance so that they understand what they should be doing and how they should be behaving. Kind of like when we get a new job….. we are stressed about it because we don’t understand what we should be doing or how to do it. As soon as we get used to the routine and understand what we should be doing we can start to relax and enjoy the new job. But until we understand it we stay a little on edge and stressed. Our dogs live in a “human” home. They need to be shown and explained what they should be doing and how they should be behaving. If not they will try to figure it out on their own. Some dogs are capable of this…… they can be brought into a new place and left to do their own thing and be perfectly fine. Most dogs however need a little extra guidance and explanation before they can relax. Dogs THRIVE when given rules and limitations. You may have been trying to do these things but in a way that your dog just doesn’t understand. Dogs speak a different “language” then we do. So we have to figure out how to bridge that gap. Once we do we can start “talking” to our dogs so that they can understand us.
